The Chicago Bulls almost certainly will retain Fred Hoiberg this offseason.

Hoiberg was fired after the Bulls fired Tom Thibodeau after they were eliminated in the second round of last year's playoffs.

Gar Forman and John Paxson had a difficult working relationship with Thibodeau towards the end of his tenure and Hoiberg was the probable candidate to replace him for months.

"Hoiberg is management's guy now and they are on the line for his success," said Wojnarowski. "Management can't fire Tom Thibodeau with $9 million left on his deal and then (fire) Hoiberg with $20 million remaining over four years on his contract.

"Paxson and Forman have to reshape the roster and support Hoiberg, which is unusual for them. Mostly Bulls' management is used to blaming and undermining its coach. Now, they have to understand their own job security is liked tied to Hoiberg's success or failure on the job."
