Nearly half of NBA players are related to an elite athlete.

According to a Wall Street Journal analysis of biographical data on every NBA player, 48.8% are related to current or former elite athletes, which is defined as anyone who played a sport professionally in the NCAA or at a national-teeam level.

The NFL comes in at just 17.5 percent and 14.5 percent for MLB players.

The average NBA player is about 6-feet, 6-inches tall.
