The Philadelphia 76ers will hire P.J. Carlesimo as Brett Brown's top assistant coach.

Carlesimo will replace Mike D'Antoni, who was hired by the Houston Rockets as head coach.

Carlesimo and Brown previously worked together with the San Antonio Spurs.
