A 10-hour authorized documentary about Michael Jordan is being shopped by the NBA and Creative Artists Agency.

Production hasn't started yet but the film will most focus on Jordan in the late 1990s after his stint playing baseball when he won three more titles with the Chicago Bulls. The documentary will cover the murder of Jordan's father, his retirement to play baseball and then his return to the NBA.

The producing team is led by Mike Tollin, who spearheaded ESPN’s acclaimed “30 for 30” series and is partners with Peter Guber in Mandalay Sports Media.

The project has been pitched to ESPN, Showtime, HBO and Fox Sports and they're seeking $20 million.

The success of ESPN’s eight-hour O.J. Simpson documentary earlier this year is said to have convinced Jordan to move forward with the project.
