The Indiana Pacers were offered a package as part of a three-way Paul George trade with the Cleveland Cavaliers in which they would have received Gary Harris, Trey Lyles and a future first round pick that likely would have converted to a second rounder.

Denver would have received Kevin Love as part of the deal.

The Pacers were seeking Jae Crowder, Marcus Smart and multiple picks from the Boston Celtics. The Celtics weren't ready to finalize that deal with multiple picks as they wanted to sign Gordon Hayward before moving on the George trade.

With Indiana wanting to get a deal done, they traded George to the Oklahoma City Thunder for Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis.

Mike Wise of The Undefeated reported that all three owners of the Cavs, Pacers and Nuggets agreed upon the three-way trade before Kevin Pritchard vetoed it and said there was a better deal for Indiana.

Zach Lowe reports Indiana was described by insiders as conducting an "ongoing auction-style negotiation." They also shifted deadlines on offers.
