The NBA will switch formats for the All-Star Game this season with two captains selecting teams without regard to conferences.

The players who win the fan vote from each conference will be the captains.

Twelve players will still be selected from each conference for the Feb. 18th game.

The new system will enable players from each conference to play against each other and will allow current teammates to face off.

The ten starters of the game as voted upon by fans and players will be picked first.

LeBron James and Stephen Curry would have been the captains had the NBA applied these rules last season.
