The Boston Celtics have tendered a qualifying offer worth $6.05 million to Marcus Smart.
Smart will become a restricted free agent.
The Celtics and Smart were unable to agree upon a long-term extension last October.
Smart's cap hold will be $13.6 million.
Boston also tendered a qualifying offer to Jabari Bird, who was on a two-way contract.
