The New Orleans Pelicans have been one of the NBA's most aggressive teams on the trade market as they attempt to build a strong enough team around Ant

"The biggest story in the NBA: A 25-year-old big man who can do literally everything on the court is approaching the most pivotal moment of his career and a moment that can pivot the entire landscape of the league," said Zach Lowe. "Davis is already eligible for a supermax.

"If he says 'no' to that, the entire league is now in disarray because anyone with trade assets will be doing everything they can to get Anthony Davis."

Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the Pelicans thought they had a better team than they were expecting entering the 18-19 season and have been frustrated by their inability to gauge their team due to injuries.

"Boston has been hawking Anthony Davis for years," said Wojnarowski.

The Celtics have been hoping to use all of their accumulated young players and draft assets to trade for Davis, but now the Los Angeles Lakers have a legitimate shot for Davis

"There's no deal coming here for New Orleans where Anthony Davis looks and says 'Hey, I think I can win a championship here.'

"If he stays with the Pelicans, it's going to be because of five years and $235 million."

Both Wojnarowski and Lowe predict Davis will turn down the supermax.
