LeBron James continues to lobby for the Los Angeles Lakers to sign Carmelo Anthony.

James had dinner with Anthony in Manhattan on Monday.

“We’ll see. I don’t run the team,” said James. “There are obviously things that need to be worked out on both sides. But I’ve always wanted to play with Melo, and if the opportunity presents itself, it’ll be great. So we’ll see what happens.”

Anthony is still on the roster of the Houston Rockets and he could join the Lakers either via trade or as a free agent if he's bought out. The Rockets have interest in trading for Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.
