Chris Paul fell to No. 4 in the 2005 NBA Draft as the Atlanta Hawks picked Marvin Williams Jr. at No. 2. Paul had expected to go to the Hawks.

"I got up at the draft," Paul said of when the second pick was about to be announced. "They pretty much told me they were picking me. I found a house (in Gwinnett County) and everything."

The Utah Jazz then picked Deron Williams at No. 3 and Paul was selected by the then-New Orleans Hornets at No. 4.
