Darius Garland told ESPN's Dave McMenamin that he had all the makings of a modern guard ahead of the NBA Draft next Thursday.

"I humbly say this, I think I'm the best (guard) in the draft...I think I can do everything that an NBA team wants me to do," said Garland.

Garland had a private workout for the Cavs and the Lakers this week, a source told McMenamin - although that was before the Lakers traded their 4th pick to the Pelicans. Garland reportedly impressed the Lakers with his shot-making ability and his range during the workout.

Garland also pointed to his pick-and-roll and scoring ability as another reason why his game would translate at the next level.

"The game is going towards a pick-and-roll and a scoring point guard situation. So, I think I can do both of those really well."
