As has been long assumed, Kevin Love didn't have interest in joining the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2014 until LeBron James chose to return to the franchise.

Brian Windhorst relayed a story told to him by David Griffin, who was running the Cavaliers at the time, that illustrates the influence of James.

"(Griffin) had called Kevin Love's agent and said 'Hey, we have interest in trading for your guy.' (Love's agent Jeff Schwartz) said 'Don't, he wouldn't re-sign there,'" Windhorst said.

"And then, (Griffin) tells the story, basically on his knees or just sitting at his desk, like, just couldn't believe that LeBron had committed. I mean, they were feeling good about it, but they really, really didn't know until the essay came out. And he was still digesting the essay, and Jeff Schwartz, Kevin Love's agent, calls and said Kevin wants to come play for you now. And that was because LeBron had talked to Kevin and got the wheels in motion.

"Did LeBron execute the trade? No, he didn't negotiate, you know, 'Hey, we're going to send Anthony Bennett and a first round pick.' It was pretty clear he knew Andrew Wiggins was going to get traded within the essay.

"Even if LeBron calls Jimmy Butler and talks Jimmy Butler into coming. The Lakers still have to negotiate the deal.

"That's one of the reasons why people have joked that there's enough Klutch free agents out there that the Lakers could load their entire team up with Klutch Sports guys."

Among the free agents who are Klutch clients are Marcus Morris, Markieff Morris, Cory Joseph, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Trey Lyles, and likely J.R. Smith and Nerlens Noel.
