John Wall and James Harden had interest in playing with each other this season, but that potential partnership was always fraught due to Harden seeking a trade from the Houston Rockets.

Wall has played well in his return from an Achilles rupture, but the Rockets are 3-6.

“I think it’s been a little rocky, can’t lie about that,” Wall said when asked about the fit with Harden after nine games. “I don’t think it’s been the best it could be, to be honest. That’s all I really could say.”

We’re just not good enough,” Harden said. “Chemistry, talent-wise, everything. And it was clear the last few games. From the beginning of the game, they’re just a veteran team obviously, championship team, and one of the best teams we have in this league.”
