The New Orleans Pelicans are close to a deal with Willie Green to become the team's next head coach.

Green has been an assistant with the Suns for the past two seasons and spent the previous three seasons on the Golden State Warriors' coaching staff.

Green is also a 12-year veteran of the NBA.

The Pelicans are searching for a replacement for Stan Van Gundy.
