Nick Gilbert, the son of Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert, passed away on Saturday due to a genetic condition at the age of 26 years old.

Nick Gilbert had a lifelong battle with neurofibromatosis (NF1).

Nick Gilbert frequently represented the Cavs at the NBA draft lottery, twice getting the No. 1 pick in the draft.

The Gilberts launched a foundation in 2017 that funded more than $18 million in research grants to find a cure for Type 1 neurofibromatosis.

The Cavs dedicated their most recent season to Nick Gilbert and others affected with the genetic condition.
