The NBA draft is always held on the penultimate Thursday in June the week after the last possible day for the Finals, which is on Father's Day Sunday.

But there has been discussion among general managers of turning the draft into a two-day event, according to ESPN's Zach Lowe.

There are five minutes between picks for the first round, but just two minutes between picks for the second round. Many of the second round picks are traded, which creates a confusing situation to follow with clarity on where players are going taking hours.

There has also been some level of interest by some parties to move the draft after free agency, as the NFL sequences their offseason, but that would mean moving back the draft and Summer League. Given the rise of popularity in Summer League, that scenario now seems unlikely.
