The NBA will be testing its new in-game flopping penalty during the upcoming Summer League, according to a Tuesday announcement.

A flop will be penalized by awarding the opposing team a free throw and possession of the ball.

The player who commits the flop will be called for an unsportsmanlike technical foul. The technical foul won't count towards personal fouls.

Referees also will not be required to stop live play to call a flopping violation.
