Wednesday night marked the completion of five weeks of action in the NBA this season.

I put together a nice summation of how the top rookies were handling their transition from college to the pros almost three weeks ago, which means that it?s time to check in on the freshmen once again.

Not surprisingly, Derrick Rose and O.J. Mayo are at the top of the list, but fellow top picks like Michael Beasley and Kevin Love have stepped aside to allow Brook Lopez and Mario Chalmers to slide up after a solid month of November.

*In addition to their standard statistics, I?ve tallied each players FIC (Floor Impact Counter) per game. All statistics are through Tuesday night?s games.

1. Derrick Rose: Chicago: 18.7 points, 5.8 assists, and 4.2 rebounds (12.3 FIC)
Rose has been the most consistent of all rookies even though he has been thrown into the fire as the starting point guard in Chicago. The Bulls are trying to get him voted in as an All-Star, but a campaign may not be necessary if he keeps up his current level of play. He has only scored fewer than 10 points once and has two double-doubles to his credit.

2. O.J. Mayo, Memphis: 21.9 points and 4.6 rebounds (10.7 FIC)
Mayo leads all rookies in scoring and actually averages more points per game than all but ten players in the NBA. He has put up decent rebounding numbers, as well, creating a two-man race with Rose for Rookie of the Year honors, thus far.

3. Marc Gasol, Memphis: 12.2 points and 7.1 rebounds (9.4 FIC)
Pau?s little brother has been tremendous for the Grizziles, who have two of the top three rookies on this list. Gasol has a pair of double-doubles, including a 27/16 effort against the Warriors on Nov. 3rd. Comparing 36-minute averages with his brother Marc stands up well. Pau: 18 pts/9.5 rbds, Marc: 15 pts/8.7 rbds.

4. Brook Lopez, New Jersey: 9.7 points and 7.2 rebounds (8.6 FIC)
It took him a while, but Brook has three double-doubles in his last eight games and has scored more than 10 points in all but one of those contests. He?s averaging 13 points and 8.9 rebounds during that stretch. Devin Harris might be getting all the publicity, but Lopez is a big part of New Jersey?s resurgence.

5. Greg Oden, Portland: 8.0 points and 7.8 rebounds (8.5 FIC)
Oden is starting to show flashes of dominance, having recorded three double-doubles in his last five games. He still isn't on the court consistently -- he played 31 minutes against Detroit (Nov. 30) but saw just 20 minutes versus New York (Dec. 2). Foul trouble has played a role in that, something young big men always seem to have an issue with.

6. Mario Chalmers, Miami: 8.9 points and 4.5 assists (8.4)
He scored a career-high 23 points against the Rockets on Nov. 24, and has been hot ever since. Rose is the only rookie averaging more assists per game than Chalmers, who defers to Dwyane Wade on offense more often than not. He may have been drafted after two of his Kansas teammates (Brandon Rush and Darrell Arthur), but he?s been more impressive.

7. Rudy Fernandez, Portland: 11.5 points and 2.7 rebounds (7.7 FIC)
Fernandez is one of the best scorers in this year?s rookie class and is starting to adapt to the defensive aspect of the NBA ever-so-slightly. He has more than 13 points in ten of his nineteen games, including his famed 25-point effort against Miami on Nov. 12th. He is still struggling with his shot on occasion, but he is careful with the ball in his hands.

8. Kevin Love, Minnesota: 8.7 points and 6.4 rebounds (7.5 FIC)
The former UCLA Bruin went through a rough spot before posting 18 points and 12 rebounds against the Nuggets on Saturday night. He followed that up with 10/8 against Bobcats on Monday, which is a sign that he?s adjusted what wasn?t working in the middle of November when he went 7-for-39 over a six-game stretch.

9. Luc Mbah a Moute, Milwaukee: 9.1 points and 7.2 rebounds (7.4 FIC)
He continues to be a pleasant surprise in Milwaukee but has seen his playing time decrease recently. He was on the floor for less than 22 minutes in Milwaukee?s losses to Detroit and Cleveland and has only seen more than 30 minutes of action twice in eight games after playing a combined 85 minutes against Memphis (Nov. 14) and Boston (Nov. 15).

10. Jason Thompson, Sacramento: 10.2 points and 6.2 rebounds (7.2 FIC)
Thompson is quickly becoming one of my favorite rookies but has been placed on the bench in favor of Mikki Moore often lately. Coach Reggie Theus has admitted that his decision isn?t one that fans like but cited Moore?s defense. Thompson might not be as good of a defender, but he?s been tremendous off the glass and around the rim. The fact that he still has such high averages despite seeing little time lately confirms that.

The Best of the Rest:
11. Russell Westbrook, Oklahoma City: 12.3 points and 4.1 assists (7.2 FIC)
12. Michael Beasley, Miami: 14.7 points and 5.4 rebounds (7.2 FIC)
13. D.J. Augustin, Charlotte: 12.7 points and 4.3 assists (7.0 FIC)
14. Anthony Morrow, Golden State: 11.6 points and 3.4 rebounds (7.0 FIC)
15. George Hill, San Antonio: 10.3 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.1 assists (6.9 FIC)
16. JaVale McGee, Washington: 8.2 points and 5.1 rebounds (6.0 FIC)
17. Marreese Speights, Philadelphia: 6.6 points and 4.1 rebounds (5.4 FIC)
18. Darrell Arthur, Memphis: 5.8 points and 5.6 rebounds (5.3 FIC)
19. Ryan Anderson, New Jersey: 7.5 points and 4.3 rebounds (5.2 FIC)
20. Nicolas Batum, Portland: 6.0 points and 2.8 rebounds (5.2 FIC)
21. Eric Gordon, L.A. Clippers: 7.4 points (4.7 FIC)
22. Anthony Randolph, Golden State: 5.2 points and 4.6 rebounds (4.0 FIC)
23. Steven Hill, Oklahoma City: 2.0 points and 3.0 rebounds (4.0 FIC)
24. Brandon Rush, Indiana: 7.3 points and 2.5 rebounds (3.6 FIC)
25. Bobby Brown, Sacramento: 6.9 points and 2.2 assists (3.5 FIC)

27. Roy Hibbert, Indiana: 3.6 points and 2.7 rebounds (3.1 FIC)
