Luther Head has opted out of his deal with Hapoel Holon, a team in Israel.

Head signed a one-year contract with Hapoel on Monday.

Tal Burstein has retired at the age of 32.

Burstein needs to undergo surgery on his injured right hip.

Burstein was a starter for Maccabi Tel Aviv that won Euroleague titles in 2004 and 2005.

Head, a six-year NBA veteran, spent the 2010-11 season with the Sacramento Kings, averaging 6.1 points, 1.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists.

Head owns career averages of 8.2 points and 2.2 assists.

Craig Smith has agreed to a contract with Hapoel Jersualem for the 12-13 season.

Smith spent the 11-12 NBA season with the Blazers.

Willie Warren has agreed to a one-year deal with Maccabi Rishon Lezion.

Warren spent last season with the NBA D-League Rio Grande Valley Vipers.

Pops Mensah-Bonsu has agreed to a two-year deal with Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Mensah-Bonsu arrives from Besiktas, with whom he won the 2011-12 FIBA EuroChallenge last  season.

Pat Calathes has signed a free agent deal with Maccabi Haifa.

Calathes, a 6-foot-10 forward, arrives from Panathinaikos, where he averaged 6.0 points and 2.5 rebounds over 11 games in the Greek A1 league.
