The South Florida Sun Sentinel is reporting that now Part A is complete, attention has now turned to Part B where the Dallas Mavericks would acquire guard Tim Hardaway with their freshly acquired tade exception.  Word is that Dallas initially spoke to the Heat about acquiring Hardaway in a sign-and-trade transaction for Mavericks free-agent power forward Gary Trent, which the Heat rejected.  It was also reported that the Heat seemingly also has been cool toward swapping Hardaway for what would turn into its own $3.3 million salary-cap exception, one it could use in a trade any time during the next calendar year, writes Ira Winderman.

?We really want Tim, but have a different view of what makes a good deal,? Mavericks owner Mark Cuban said Friday via e-mail. ?We think that having an exception is very valuable for acquiring players. ... Miami acquiring a trade exception in exchange for Timmy is a great deal for the Heat. They don?t agree at this time, but we are in no rush.?
