Vince Carter scored 17 of his 27 points in the third quarter as the Toronto Raptors beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 115-85 in an exhibition game Thursday night.
Carter, signed to a contract extension over the summer, also had nine rebounds and six assists.

Kevin Garnett led the Timberwolves with 18 points.

After Garnett's three-pointer cut Toronto's lead to six points in the third quarter, the Raptors went on a 30-5 run as Carter made a driving dunk, two three-pointers, a fadeaway jumper and two free throws. His fadeaway jumper gave Toronto a 31-point lead.

Toronto outscored Minnesota 42-17 in the quarter.
