Sam Smith of the Chicago Tribune talks about Michael Jordan's first official game against NBA talent yesterday, a game which revealed that Michael Jordan is more grounded than we expected.  There was a lob from Courtney Alexander to Michael Jordan which MJ caught and laid in, Jordan later pointing out that "I still scored the points".  He still has his basketball wits, and he is still getting into NBA shape, so it will take time.  Jordan finished the game with eight points in 17 minutes of action, all in the first half.

Jordan also said some words for those disappointed in Chicago.

"There would be a sense of envy that things would be different," Jordan said when how Chicagoans would feel about his Washington look. "Things happen. You move on. You can't change the way things happen. When I get a chance to play in front of them, I hope I play a pretty good game. I'm disappointed I won't get a chance to play in front of them as often as I used to.

"I've gotten over [not wearing a Bulls uniform]," said Jordan. "This is a whole different situation. If I sit here and worry about the Bulls and the jersey, I'd worry about Phil [Jackson] coaching me and Scottie Pippen and all the other guys. It's a different team. I'm going to get past the uniform. It's just a uniform and what's inside the uniform is what matters."
