RECORDS: Magic 2-1, Hornets 1-2.
BROADCAST: TV -- Sunshine Network. RADIO -- 580 AM (WDBO) in Orlando and in Spanish on 1440 AM (WPRD).
HORNETS UPDATE: They played Tuesday night in Charlotte against the Boston Celtics. Jamal Mashburn, their best player, remains on the sideline with a sore left hamstring. Starting in his place will be Lee Nailon, who had 14 points in the loss to the Magic on Friday. The Hornets are one of the few teams in the East whose starting front line is bigger than the Magic's.
WHAT TO LOOK FOR: Incentive usually is a problem in the exhibition part of the schedule; it may be even more so with the Hornets after playing Tuesday night. The Magic outplayed them defensively in the 91-85 victory in Raleigh, N.C., last week. Mike Miller led the Magic with 19 points in that game. Miller likely will get his first start of the exhibition season, with Tracy McGrady (back) sitting out.
ETC: The Magic donated 2,200 tickets for tonight's game to the Orlando Police and Fire departments. Each sworn member of the departments will receive a pair of tickets. . . . The Magic released center/forward Todd Fuller on Tuesday. He had hardly played, averaging only three minutes in the first three preseason games. . . . Miller is leading the Magic in rebounding (6.3 per game). . . . The Magic will host the Houston Rockets on Friday night.
