DALLAS -- Kiki Vandeweghe is brilliant.
He sat comfortably in a front-row seat Tuesday night at American Airlines Center, his finest work to date on display before his very eyes.

Precision shooting. Nimble footwork. Crisp basketball.

Hours of Vandeweghe's tutelage in full bloom.

The Dallas Mavericks are good. Thirty-two points better than the Denver Nuggets were Tuesday.

If the Nuggets can take anything from their 112-80 preseason loss, they can take solace in the fact that Vandeweghe works for them now. And while Vandeweghe gets plenty of credit for helping Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki and point guard Steve Nash develop into NBA stars, it's clear the Nuggets general manager has his work cut out in Denver.
