A typical, uneventful preseason game turned into something pretty darn interesting Wednesday night at America West Arena.

The New York Knicks beat the Suns 98-91 in the main event, but the undercard that featured Suns coach Scott Skiles and Knicks forward Kurt Thomas was more fun.

It started in the second quarter when Skiles was charged with a technical foul for adamantly complaining about Thomas' tactics.

It boiled over in the fourth quarter when Skiles was again making his case, and Thomas started talking to him from the free-throw line.

Thomas was charged with a technical foul.
