The waiver wire and free-agent list will become documents of interest for Cavaliers General Manager Jim Paxson and coach John Lucas next week.

That's because two of the Cavs' best post players - Tyrone Hill and Zydrunas Ilgauskas - will open the season on the injured list.

Hill, acquired from Philadelphia in an off-season trade, has been sidelined throughout the preseason with back spasms. The spasms are sometimes so severe he can't walk without discomfort. He hasn't practiced with the Cavs and spends most of his time in therapy.

Ilgauskas is recovering from foot surgery in February. Ilgauskas, a 7-3 center, has played in only 29 games over the past three season because of foot injuries. Unlike Hill, however, Ilgauskas has had limited practice, but he hasn't played in any preseason games.
