When it comes to player rotations, there is perhaps nobody stricter than Knicks coach Jeff Van Gundy, a former assistant under Pat Riley.

And now Howard Eisley gets a taste of it. Van Gundy has named Mark Jackson as the starting point guard and Charlie Ward as the first backup, according to the New York Times. Eisley gets front row seats, but next to Travis Knight instead of Spike Lee.

How's that for a $4.8 million benchpiece?

Asked if he wanted out, Eisley told the New York Post "I've only been here a month. It's premature to talk about leaving. No one said the situation still can't work."
