It's never clear-cut with Marcus Camby. One day after saying he's ready to "rock and roll" for Tuesday's season opener against Michael Jordan, the Knick center yesterday backtracked.

After participating in the morning shoot-around, he complained of pain in his left foot, which is wracked by plantar fasciaitis.

Camby said that even if he does suit up Tuesday, it will be for limited minutes. Camby has played just six minutes this preseason, and missed, as planned last night's horrible 100-84 loss to the Nets at Albany's Pepsi Arena.
