The Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavs and Toronto Raptors have swung a deal, the second 3 Team trade in as many days and the third within the past week. Raptors.com and Slam! Sports both report the deal as final.

The Cavs receive guard Ricky Davis from Miami and forward Brian Skinner from Toronto. The Heat acquire forward Chris Gatling (RealGM estimates that his salary should be in the $2.5 to $3.3 million range) while the Raptors receive oft-injured forward Don MacLean and cash from Miami.

The Raptors were looking to thin their corps of big men. MacLean will likely be waived before he gets fitted for a uniform. The trade also signals that the Raptors will keep rookie point guard Carlos Arroyo. The Raptors will wind up saving about $500,000 in salary by making this deal.

Miami has been after Gatling all summer. RealGM assumes that the Heat was waiting to see what happened with Mason before doing this trade. The Heat were likely holding MacLean in the event he could be used in a sign-and-trade to their liking.

The Cavs pick up a raw but explosive off guard in Davis and front court depth in Skinner, who in joining his 4th team in 2 years is becoming the next version of Gatling.
