Doc Rivers has been on a longer honeymoon than all of Elizabeth Taylor's put together.

He was supposed to suffer as any rookie head coach would in his first season with a salary-cap-strapped team. Instead, he led the Magic to a shocking .500 record and was named coach of the year.

Rivers then lost Grant Hill to injury for almost all of last season, but the Magic still made the playoffs and discovered star Tracy McGrady.

This season Rivers will be treated like any other coach who has too much talent to escape the slings and arrows of outrageous underachievement.
