Washington coach Doug Collins didn't want Jerry Stackhouse to beat the Wizards from the free throw line after two exhibition games against the the Pistons.

"He was 30-for-30 against us from the line in the preseason," Collins said before Sunday night's game.

So the Wizards allowed Stackhouse to shoot jump shots, and that proved to be a mistake.

Stackhouse, on a sore left foot, made seven of his first nine field-goal attempts and the Pistons (3-1) were off and running to a 100-78 victory at the Palace.
