Ken Hornack of the Daytona News-Journal reports: As expected, Mike Miller was brought off the injured list by the Orlando Magic before their game against the Sacramento Kings.
To make room for last season's NBA Rookie of the Year on the active roster, the Magic placed Monty Williams on the injured list with what they said was a strained right hamstring.
Coach Doc Rivers said Miller's conditioning might be the only factor which would cause him to be used less than he was before he chipped a bone in his right foot Oct. 19 during a preseason game against the Houston Rockets.
"I'm not going to baby him," Rivers said.
The Magic decided against deactivating Pat Garrity, who sprained his right knee Monday night in their double-overtime loss to the Seattle SuperSonics. Williams can't come off the injured list until after next week's five-game road trip, and Rivers didn't want to do without Garrity for that length of time.
"I don't think we want to take that risk," he said. "Even if he can come back in game three, it was worth not putting him on."
Garrity was in uniform Friday night.
