Road sweet road.
The Cavaliers headed into Minnesota having been dreadful at home and respectable on the road. Last night, they were great on the road, upsetting the previously undefeated Timberwolves 107-103 at the Target Center.
``We grew up,'' Cavs coach John Lucas said.
The Cavs have many youngsters, but it was veterans who came through down the stretch. Forward Lamond Murray, an eight-year man, scored on a driving layup with 32.8 seconds left and was fouled. He converted the free throw for a 101-98 lead.
Minnesota was able to get within two at 105-103 with 9.2 seconds left on three free throws by Chauncey Billups. But Cavs guard Bimbo Coles, in his 12th year, locked up the game with two free throws after being fouled on the ensuing in-bounds pass with 8.2 seconds left.
The bad news for the Cavs (2-6) is they have a home game tonight against Dallas. They're 0-3 at home, having been outscored by an averaged margin of 21.7 points. On the road, the Cavs are 2-3 and have been in every game except one.
``We need to go home and get a win,'' Lucas said. ``This is the same situation as (two weeks ago) where we came home after beating Miami. But then we laid an egg (losing 99-69 to Orlando).''
