Tracy McGrady, who is getting acclaim as perhaps the game's best player, most likely will not start in this season's NBA All-Star Game.
He can blame Michael Jordan for that.
The NBA All-Star Game balloting opened Thursday, and the ballot had an interesting twist. Jordan, who has played mostly small forward in his comeback with the Washington Wizards, was listed as a guard. Perhaps the most popular athlete in the world, Jordan is certain to take one guard spot on the Eastern Conference team.
The other spot probably will go to Allen Iverson, especially considering the Philadelphia 76ers are hosting the event.
"The best man will win," Magic Coach Doc Rivers said before laughing, pondering a duel between McGrady and Jordan for the fans' affection. "It will be OK. Tracy, Grant [Hill] -- they're all-stars. They'll be on the team, even if it has to be as reserves. If they're not, there's something wrong with the process."
