Pacers power forward Jermaine O'Neal did not practice Thursday at Conseco Fieldhouse and is listed as day-to-day with a bruised muscle in his lower back.
O'Neal had 14 points and 13 rebounds in 39 minutes Wednesday in the 101-93 loss at Boston, but was noticeably hampered at both ends of the court. He did not play on Tuesday against the Nets.
Coach Isiah Thomas said without O'Neal, who is averaging 17.4 points and 9.4 rebounds, the "look" of the team is changed. O'Neal's absence tonight -- against the Timberwolves' front line of 6-11 Kevin Garnett, 6-10 Joe Smith and 7-0 Rasho Nesterovic -- would definitely affect the Pacers. Loren Woods, a 7-1 rookie, is one of the first off Minnesota's bench.
