MIAMI - Eric Williams went through his first full practice in three weeks yesterday and appears ready to be activated from the injured list, where he has spent the last five games with left knee tendinitis.

And when he does come back, he said, there will be a new sheriff in town on the defensive end.

``No doubt,'' he said after preparing for the Celtics' game tomorrow night against the Heat. ``It's going to be different now. Sometimes we lack. Sometimes we don't play defense for the whole 24 seconds. It's my job to help fix that and see that we do.''
