The Ogden Standard-Examiner takes a look at Jarron Collins' journey from second round draft pick with little hope of making the team to the Jazz's starting center.

Jarron Collins learned a painful lesson when he arrived in Utah last summer, but it was a lesson he took to heart.

A month after being selected by the Jazz in the second round of the June NBA draft, Collins participated with his new team in the Rocky Mountain Review.

It was an eye-opening experience.

He was out of shape and overwhelmed by the demands of professional basketball, averaging 6.2 points and 3.5 rebounds in the six-game summer league but doing nothing to distinguish himself.

He was a draft choice, though, and if nothing else that at least earned him a second chance -- an invitation to fall training camp.

That's all it took for the former Stanford star to get the message.
