The Timberwolves, it seems, are finally getting a grip on their 12-year-old rebounding woes.
After outrebounding opponents only once before over an entire season -- in 1999-2000 -- and tying opponents last season, the Wolves began Saturday night's game against the Dallas Mavericks ranked fifth in the league in grabbing missed shots (45.57), and second in the league in rebounding margin (plus-5.9).
The Wolves, off to their best start in franchise history, had racked up double-figure rebounding advantages in seven of their previous 17 games and held the edge in all but six games. In their 125-117 loss to the Mavericks on Saturday, each team pulled down 45 rebounds.
The difference?
How about a starting lineup that includes players who stand 7 feet, 7-1, 6-10 and 6-7?
