Jazz guard-forward Bryon Russell, on the injured list for a month after suffering a avulsion fracture of the pelvis, practiced Sunday night and is getting close to being activated.
After Russell took part in a 75-minute workout with his teammates at a local high school, he reported, "It's feeling good -- a little better than I thought it would. The movement is better."
According to Jazz coach Jerry Sloan, Russell will practice again this morning. Afterward, his status will be re-evaluated by trainer Gary Briggs.
"If we had to play [today] I don't think I could," Russell said. "But I'm getting there."
When Russell is returned to the 12-man roster, NBA rules mandate that someone will have to go on the injured list. The most likely candidates are Quincy Lewis or John Starks, who have struggled with consistency all season.
