Everyone else had bolted to take care of the day's business, to shower, get changed, grab a quick bite and head to the airport for the Toronto Raptor charter to Indianapolis last night when Alvin Williams continued his relentless attack on the basket.
Take a pass, launch a jump shot; take a pass, launch a jump shot; take a pass, launch a jump shot.
With metronomic consistency, the Raptor point guard worked on the mid-range jumper that's so hugely necessary to the team's success and which has been so hugely inconsistent for most of this season.
And the perfectionist that he is, Williams met every miss with a look of chagrin; every make was greeted with a baleful stare.
"It's just about getting a rhythm," he said. "To me, I want every shot I take to go in and I know that's not going to happen, but I want to get in a rhythm."
The fervent hope around the Raptors today at least is that Williams didn't tire himself out too much in his singular search for perfection because he's about to become one busy young basketball player.
