Anderson was booed when he dribbled. He was booed when he shot. He was even booed when he stood on the sideline for an in-bounds play.

While Anderson may have been subjected to a game-long chorus from the fans, they did lack the we-hate-Karl Malone fervor.

"The fans thought Derek sort of broke up the team," David Robinson said, "but the boos didn't have too much oomph to them. Getting guys like Tony Parker, Steve Smith and Bruce Bowen kind of softens the blow."

Anderson may have left for Portland, but the Spurs seem to be doing just fine without him. Behind 26 points from Tim Duncan and another solid defensive effort, the Spurs beat Portland 97-79 for their ninth straight win.
