Steve Luhm of the Salt Lake Tribune writes that the Jazz have recently been awakened from their troubles.  A good read.

"Things are different now.

No, no, really.

OK, sort of.

That's the word from the Jazzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, who seem to have awakened from an early-season slumber during which they added a few extra Zs, if not to their name, to their game.

The sleepy results were plain to see in the numbers on the scoreboard, in the minutiae of the box score, in the Midwest Division standings, in the empty seats at the Delta Center. The Jazz looked hapless and soulless at times, a shell of a team that formerly -- as recently as last season -- had torn through regular-season opponents that now were kicking sand in Mr. Sandman's face.

Jazz postgame stat sheets looked more like rap sheets, frequently revealing uninspired and incongruent play by veterans and youngsters alike. Low shooting percentages on account of bad shots. Turnover totals that proved a numerical nonchalance with the ball. Defense that allowed open looks. And a record that suggested the Jazz had lit the fuse on a cannon pointed directly toward the bowels of its own boat."
