Monday, January 28, 2002 - Maybe it's a good thing Zendon Hamilton didn't waste energy worrying about a guaranteed roster spot with the Denver Nuggets.

While others were speculating in early January he might be on his way to the NBA's waiver wire, Hamilton just made his way to the Nuggets' locker room.

 
Zendon Hamilton, left, is a 6-foot-11 center out of St. John's. He averaged 13 points and 11.5 rebounds during a recent four-game stretch with the Denver Nuggets. He has made five starts this season.  
"I just show up," Hamilton said. "If they tell me to be here, I'm here."

When Jan. 6 arrived and the Nuggets had to guarantee contracts, center Shawnelle Scott went to the waiver wire. Hamilton and rookie Chris Andersen remained.
