While the world comes to its doorstep, the Utah Jazz will be seeing the world.
Well, not all of it, exactly. But at least a good chunk of North America.
Call it the Jazz's part of the Olympic effort.
Only the torch and Charles Barkley's belt will have covered more ground by the time the Jazz plays its next home game.
Nine games in nine cities. Four time zones. Nine states. Two countries. A dozen plane flights.
The Jazz will travel 8,635 miles, not counting bus rides to and from the arenas.
That's some beat, even for a Mailman named Karl Malone.
This isn't an ordinary road trip. It's more like an endurance test dreamed up by a sadist with airline stock. Or being on the lam from the law.
