Though the league chose Elton Brand to take injured Shaquille O'Neal's roster spot on the All-Star team, Western Conference coach Don Nelson has to decide who will take his starting center spot, reports Kevin Lyons of the Star Telegram.  One logical choice would be his own player, Dirk Nowitzki, the only other Western Conference All-Star listed as a center (a "forward/center").
However, Nelson, who was surprised to learn of this responsibility, said he may well pay deference to one of the older All-Stars like Chris Webber or maybe Karl Malone.
