In each of the past 13 seasons, the Jazz have enjoyed at least a six-game winning streak.
They hope to build another one tonight.
After consecutive road wins at Indiana (98-82), Philadelphia (98-91), Toronto (94-85), New York (92-89) and Cleveland (103-92), the Jazz seek No. 6 against the struggling Denver Nuggets at the Pepsi Center.
Having once stood 6-11 -- and 22-22 as recently as Jan. 22 -- Utah seems to have turned its season around, thanks mostly to Karl Malone.
During the Jazz's five-game winning streak since the All-Star break, the 38-year-old Malone has averaged 29 points, 11.4 rebounds and 6.4 assists.
For his work in the last four games, Malone was named the NBA's Western Conference player of the week Tuesday. It was the 23rd time since March 1987 that Malone has received a weekly honor.
"The big guy is playing his best basketball," Jazz coach Jerry Sloan said. "All of our players are playing much better -- much harder. We seem to be much more together as a group. Our energy was very low at the All-Star break, but it's been like day and night since then."
