In an attempt to build some cohesion before the season completely crumbles away, David Robinson stood up and addressed his teammates on the bus before they boarded the charter flight home from Phoenix late Sunday night, a source on the Spurs said Monday.

Robinson, who has often said he dislikes players-only meetings because they can lead to more dissension, did not try to use the time to air grievances. His comments, which the source said were generally well received, were more intended to rally a team that is still searching for an identity more than two-thirds into the season.

Immediately following Sunday's loss to the Suns, Robinson said the Spurs have the tendency to become too disillusioned over their offensive shortcomings. As a result, they sometimes let up defensively like they did against Phoenix.
