OAKLAND, Calif. -- For the past three seasons, Reggie Miller had turned over the majority of the Indiana Pacers' perimeter scoring responsibility to Jalen Rose.

Now, with Rose's trade to Chicago, Miller -- the Pacers' all-time leading scorer and the NBA's all-time leading 3-point shooter -- will regain his longtime role. That's one of the subplots of last week's seven-player deal with the Bulls, and one that coach Isiah Thomas believes will benefit his team.

"He moves up on the food chain," Thomas said of Miller before Monday night's game against Golden State. "(Jermaine) O'Neal will still be the first option and Reggie now is the first option on the perimeter. You have inside-outside balance."
