The Jazz scored a season-high 114 points in Thursday night's win over Memphis -- and the 44-point margin was the third biggest in franchise history.
They shot a season-high 58.1 percent.
They handed out a season-high 39 assists.
Although Karl Malone scored 10 points, he had a season-high nine assists in a season-low 27 minutes. He also had three steals.
No wonder Malone had a good time.
"That was one of the funnest games I've ever been a part of," he said. "It was neat. Everybody played well. The guys, they took a lot of weight off me. I was able to do a lot of different things out there. It was really fun."
The key to the victory was Utah's red-hot shooting.
The Jazz are 12-1 when they shoot 50 percent, and they've done it four times in the past six games.
"We're working harder to get better shots," coach Jerry Sloan said, "and our shot selection has been better. . . . For the most part, everybody has been trying to execute our offense and that's very important for our team. It always has been."
"Guys are making the extra pass," Malone said. "We're getting better shots instead of having guys trying to create their own. We're getting good looks instead of forcing the issue."
