According to Richard Jones of the New York Times, Sports Illustrated is reporting that former Nets start Jayson Williams tried to put Costas Cristofi's palm and fingerprints on the weapon used in the shooting of Cristofi.

The article also says that Williams, 34, and two other men disposed of the bloody clothing that Williams was wearing when Christofi was shot on Feb. 14.  These actions evidently were meant to bolster initial claims that the death of the limosine driver was a suicide.  Williams is charged with manslaughter.

Some of those at Mr. Williams's home when the shooting occurred, including two members of the Harlem Globetrotters, have been offered immunity by prosecutors for their cooperation, the Sports Illustrated article says.
